CODE FOR PUTTING TWO PHOTOS SIDE BY SIDE

Hello my dear friends! This is a problem I came by lately, and thought it would be a good idea to help others in my position (that would be 1st- time bloggers and newbies). After searching the web for ages and because I couldn’t find a solution other than codes and such which I really couldn’t understand (I am so new to this!!), I hope my easy-to-go-by step-by-step GUIDE will be of help :)

1)    Start your new post as normal
Do this by going to DESIGN, then POST on your blogger blog (or just clicking on NEW POST on the top right hand side of your BLOG) ........

Just love this hand-made Vintage Style Black Rose Necklace, attached with a dark silver plated chain with adjustable length - the perfect touch up to that little black dress!

Rain Rain go away!

What a day today! :) We decided to spend some time with my lovely parents Costa & Sophie in Paphos, and it is pouring with rain! Suddenly Sunny Cyprus has turned into cold and rainy Cyprus! I personally think that the weather is confused... its supposed to be turning into Spring, not the other way round!

Its Tasty Tuesday time now, getting dark and a treat of home-made by Mama Sophie apple cake with hot freshly made custard cream is the best medicine in cold weather... Sitting by the fireplace and enjoying the last days of winter to the full!!

"Tsiknopempti"

hey hey hello everybody! Today in Cyprus and Greece and Greeks Worldwide are celebrating "Tsiknopempti" which translates into "Eating Meat Thursday" :) hmmm I know this sounds yum (I apologise to all my vegan friends truly xx please forgive me but this is a tradition and custom). Traditionally in Cyprus, we make "SOUVLA" and for those who don't know what it is, its pieces of meat strung on a long pitch, on charcoal which keeps turning, helping the meat cook, and this is done on a "FOUKOU" - a metal dish with poles mainly made out of steel, where the charcoal is placed in. This is always an outside fun day and night!! All types of meat are cooked, mostly chicken, pork and lamb and in all sorts of ways, but the best part is of course the Souvla :). And this brings us to our Greek Orthodox Lent from Green Monday on, so a lot of people will be fasting for the next few weeks leading up to Easter.

Loukaniko (Traditional Cypriot Sausage) & Halloumi (Goat Cheese) cooked on the BBQ:

Traditional Shieftalies, Souvlakia & Chops:

And today, OFFICIALLY the CARNIVAL Celebrations begin in CYPRUS!!!!!!!! My town LIMASSOL is the highlight of the carnival!! More on that in the following days when the real parties begin :) bye for now honeys, its time to get ready for the "souvla night" :)

so keep smiling and shining!

Hello Luvlies!

Haven't been posting for a few days, but been a busy bee trying to spring clean and sort out my home... still got lots to do :) also had a few jewelry orders I had to finish... love just love! Talking about love... what were you up to on Valentine's Day? I know I had a wonderful time! My darling hubby took me down to the beachfront for a long 2 hour walk and pebble / sea-shell picking :) I found some lovelies!!! boy do I have some plans for these babies... and yay! some shells already have a perfect hole in them!!!

And whilst I relaxed... for 5 hours, hubby cooked up a scrumptious meal! He made me Chinese, and I absolutely loved it!!! Our romantic dinner consisted of homemade spring rolls (poor hubby thought they didn't turn out good, but personally I thought they were delish!!!), mixed rice, sweet & sour pork, chicken cashew nuts, beef with red cabbage and we washed it all down delicious red wine Gato Negro (yum!)... well hubby preferred some white wine :) but none the less it was absolutely fab!!!!!!! Here are some photos of our V-Day 2014        (<3)

Now how about some lovely photos of the beach?!! Limassol (where I live) is such a beautiful place and it is so worth visiting during the hot summer months!!!

Valentines Day... and love is all around

"the measure of love is to love without measure"

Good Morning everyone ! I would like to leave you with this lovely note on this fascinating morning... love yourself first, love everyone else too, even if they don't love you... maybe they just aren't getting enough love to be able to love in return... by showing them love, you help them realize that it is possible...

Warm Winter Kitchen Decor x

Good Morning! Kalimera :) I'm up very early today and ready to share some Cypriot glory!
Inspirations from the island of love, the people I love! And today's inspiration comes from the woman who has inspired me most and brought me up to be who I am today... my mother Sophie! Friends and family know my dear mum who loves her herb garden and generally everything about gardening! Today I will feature a special Cypriot product all the way from mommy's garden, the long thin RED HOT PEPPER :) beware though, as innocent as it looks, this beauty can bite! They are hot & not for the weak taste buds!
Here is a simple way of how I made this wonderful deco for my kitchen wall:
1) cut and wash all chilies
2) place them on a tray in the sun for about a day (till they dry a bit)
3) take a thin sewing needle and a long piece of twine (not thick so as not to break the pepper) and prick each pepper on the top brown part near stem and sew through them
4) when you have sewn through them all and reached the last one, you can tie a knot then a small loop to hang or attach a jump ring of your liking :) - I just made a loop and hung them on a small nail that was already on the wall - a small space I wanted to fill x
- Also, you can cut the tips and just pop them into a veggie soup or stew, simply delish for those cold winter nights!!

(warning / tip: its a good idea to wear gloves while doing this if the chilies are very hot)

Here is a closer look at how I sewed the peppers through:

and there you go "Oriste" as we say :) enjoy your Kitchen Deco made in Cyprus with love x
